What makes a GST application move quickly — and the document mistakes that slow it down.

A clean GST application — accurate PAN details, a registered office address with matching proof (rent agreement or ownership document plus a recent utility bill and NOC where the premises is rented), and Aadhaar authentication completed upfront — can clear in as little as 3 working days, since Aadhaar-authenticated applications largely skip the physical verification step that adds the most delay to a typical filing.
The applications that stall almost always share the same handful of mistakes: address proof that doesn't match the application, a mismatch between the applicant's name across PAN and Aadhaar, an incomplete or blurry document upload, or HSN/SAC codes that don't match the stated nature of business — any one of these can trigger a clarification notice that adds a week or more to the timeline.
Getting the documentation right before submission, rather than fixing it after a clarification notice arrives, is the entire difference between a 3-day registration and a 3-week one.
