Overview
A Company Name Change allows a registered business to modify its existing name while retaining its legal identity and registration number (CIN). This process is governed by the Companies Act, 2013 and requires approval from both the shareholders and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).
A change in Company name may be done for rebranding, diversification, mergers, or alignment with a new business direction, provided the new name is unique and available for registration.
